EM and Gamma survey data can be used for strategic placement of soil sample sites. The site’s selection is based on statistically significant differences in soil types.
Samples collected are both chemically and physically analysed at three different depths, depending on soil horizons.
Chemical analysis includes determination of Electrical Conductivity, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), Boron, Sodium and other elemental levels. Physical inspection determines the gravel, sand, clay and silt content.
By “ground truthing” EM data with additional information gained from soil cores, soil variability can be identified within a paddock and across an entire farm. Plans can then by created to manage the variability that exists across the paddock, and management zones created.
